The Complexity of Cross-Chain Transactions

Performing an action across multiple blockchains today is a multi-step nightmare. For example, to swap a token on Ethereum for one on Polygon, a user must: 1. Approve the token on a bridge. 2. Deposit the token into the bridge. 3. Wait for confirmation. 4. Switch networks in their wallet. 5. Claim the wrapped token on the destination chain. 6. Swap the wrapped token on a DEX. Each step introduces fees, delays, and security risks.

The IAE Solution: One Transaction, Multiple Chains

Interchain Atomic Execution (IAE) is a core feature of XOLIXBlock's cross-chain architecture, enabled by our Questdriem OmniChain Contracts (QOC). IAE allows a single transaction initiated by a user on one chain to trigger a series of guaranteed, atomic actions across multiple other chains.

With IAE, a user can sign one transaction to swap their ETH on Ethereum for MATIC on Polygon directly in a single, seamless operation. The underlying complexity of bridging and swapping is abstracted away and handled by the protocol.

How It Works

  1. A user interacts with a QOC-enabled dApp and requests a cross-chain action (e.g., "Swap 1 ETH on Ethereum for FLUID on XOLIXBlock").
  2. The dApp's smart contract locks the user's 1 ETH on the Ethereum chain.
  3. The QOC protocol relays a verified message to the XOLIXBlock network, confirming the lock.
  4. A corresponding smart contract on XOLIXBlock, using a shared liquidity pool, releases the equivalent amount of FLUID to the user's address on XOLIXBlock.
  5. **Atomicity:** The entire operation is atomic. If any step fails (e.g., the liquidity pool on XOLIXBlock is empty), the entire transaction reverts, and the user's original 1 ETH on Ethereum is instantly unlocked. No funds can ever be lost or stuck in a bridge.
